1Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil. Add the noodles, oil and salt to taste. Cook for 12 minutes or until tender. Drain and rinse with cold water.
2Brown the ground beef in a skillet, until crumbly; drain. Stir in the undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil,
1 1/2 teaspoon salt, bay leaf and garlic. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3Combine cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley flakes, 2 teaspoons salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well.
4Layer the noodles, cottage cheese mixture, mozzarella cheese and ground beef mixture 1/2 at a time in a deep baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Add grated cheese last 5 minutes of cooking. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
