Ingredients
- 12 ounces whole wheat lasagna noodles
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 28 ounces stewed tomatoes
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon basil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 - bay leaf , crushed
- 1 - clove garlic, minced
- 3 cups small curd cottage cheese
- 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 3 - eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 10 - mozzarella, slices
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
How To Make lasagna

Step 1Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil. Add the noodles, oil and salt to taste. Cook for 12 minutes or until tender. Drain and rinse with cold water.

Step 2Brown the ground beef in a skillet, until crumbly; drain. Stir in the undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, bay leaf and garlic. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3Combine cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley flakes, 2 teaspoons salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well.

Step 4Layer the noodles, cottage cheese mixture, mozzarella cheese and ground beef mixture 1/2 at a time in a deep baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Add grated cheese last 5 minutes of cooking. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
