This is a very simple and very fast man pleasing meal. Kids love it too. It has been a favorite in our family for decades. Back to basics with just salt and pepper to season and I guarantee there will be clean plates

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 1 can tomato sauce , 15 oz
  • 1 1/2 cups raw elbow macaroni
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen whole kernel corn
  • - salt and pepper

How To Make goulash

  • Step 1
    Cook macaroni according to directions (takes about 8 1/2 minutes)
  • Step 2
    In large skillet brown ground beef and onions
  • Step 3
    Season with salt and pepper
  • Step 4
    Add tomato sauce, taste, and add more salt and pepper if needed
  • Step 5
    Drain and rinse cooked macaroni and add to pan
  • Step 6
    Microwave frozen corn till heated
  • Step 7
    Stir corn into skillet mixture until fully coated with sauce
  • Step 8
    Serve with your choice of salad and bread. Dinner is done!

    I often substitute a jar of spaghetti sauce in place of plain tomato sauce. Our favorite is sweet basil Classico. I also sometimes add on diced bell pepper to the onion and ground beef. Use either red or green or half each of both
