jamie's favorite skillet mac n cheese
My daughter Jamie loves this mac n cheese! She is a vegetarian so I often make more of this so she will have plenty for leftovers. It is super simple and tastes amazing! You can use any cheese you like, different combinations work very well. Do not use the pre-bagged kind. It contains cornstarch and won't work in this recipe. It might seem like too much cheese, but trust me, it works! I hope you love it as much as our family does!

- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 3 1/2 cups milk (or half & half)
- 8 ounces pasta of choice
- 16 ounces sharp cheddar cheese (do not use shredded bagged kind)
How To Make jamie's favorite skillet mac n cheese

Step 1Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Stir in the salt and flour and cook for 1 minute.

Step 2Add the milk (or half & half if you prefer) and pasta. Stir well. Bring to a boil. Cover, and reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes or until the pasta is cooked through.

Step 3Add the cheese a bit at a time stirring well after each addition until melted. Serve immediately.
