Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cans tomato sauce, 15 ounces
  • 2 cans tomato paste, 15 ounces
  • 1 can pitted ripe olives (7 1/2 ounces)
  • 2 packages spaghetti sauce mix with mushrooms
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 2 - garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 16 ounces uncooked long spaghetti
  • 1 - grated parmesan cheese

How To Make italian spaghetti

  • Step 1
    Cook and stir meat and onion in large skillet or dutch oven until meat is brown.
  • Step 2
    Drain off fat.
  • Step 3
    Stir in remaining ingredients except spaghetti and cheese; heat to boiling.
  • Step 4
    Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 5
    Remove bay leaf.
  • Step 6
    Cook spaghetti as directed on package; drain.
  • Step 7
    Serve sauce over spaghetti and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
