A real easy crowd pleaser. It serves a bunch. You can use your favorite pasta. I used whole wheat penne.

Ingredients

  • 1 package pasta, your choice (13 - 14 oz)
  • 4 sweet Italian sausages, sliced
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

How To Make italian pasta bake

  • Step 1
    Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Spray an 8x13 casserole dish with cooking spray. Cook pasta according to directions and drain.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and pepper until well combined.
  • Step 3
    Add the pasta and mix well.
  • Step 4
    Saute the sausage (if uncooked) or brown the pre-cooked sausage. Cut into slices if needed.
  • Step 5
    Put half of the tomato sauce on the bottom of the casserole dish. Then spread half of the pasta mixture on top of it.
  • Step 6
    Then layer half of the sausage.
  • Step 7
    Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese next.
  • Step 8
    Repeat the tomato sauce, pasta mixture, rest of the sausage, mozzarella cheese, and finish by sprinkling Parmesan cheese on top. Cover the casserole with aluminum foil. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Step 9
    Remove foil.
  • Step 10
    Broil for a minute or two, browning the cheese on top.
