Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 3/4 pound round steak (or your choice of steak), cut into 1/4 inch strips
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 - onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 - green, red, or yellow bell pepper (or mix)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • - whole wheat noodles
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1 - garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil

How To Make italian beef on noodles

  • Step 1
Mix the beef broth, the first measure of olive oil, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, cornstarch, sugar, red pepper, basil, marjoram and garlic in a container. A plastic container with a lid or a zip lock bag will be fine. Add steak, cover and refrigerate to marinate at least 3 hours. Stir occasionally. Place the 3 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet on lower heat and sautè sliced onions and bell pepper until tender about 3 - 4 minutes. Remove meat from marinade with tongs (reserve the marinade) and place into skillet with onions and peppers. Increase heat to medium and sautè beef until brown (about 3 minutes or just until tender), stirring constantly. Stir in reserved marinade and cook until the sauce thickens (1-2 minutes), stirring frequently. Serve over hot, buttered noodles.
