Indiana Farmhouse Goulash, Quick and Easy
Its just a quick basic supper Mom relied on and, when we were kids, we loved it. I still make it once a month or so. Good comfort food.
- 8 oz
- elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 lb
- ground beef
- 1 large
- onion, chopped
- 1 qt
- home canned tomatoes or a large can of commercial chopped tomatoes (about 28 ounces)
- salt and pepper to taste
- cloves garlic or 1/3 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 c
- additional veggies if desired (possibly corn, kidney beans, sliced bell pepper, etc.)
How to Make Indiana Farmhouse Goulash, Quick and Easy
- 1Cook macaroni in water as directed on package. Drain and set aside. Brown hamburger and onion in a large frying pan or electric skillet. Drain oil.
Add tomatoes and cooked beef and onion mixture. Stir in spices and and veggies used. Cook for 10-15 minutes to blend flavors.
Serve hot in big flat bowls with warm bread.
Note: You can sprinkle on some grated cheese if you like.
