fresh mushrooms, chopped
1 medium
onion, chopped
1 small
carrot, minced
garlic clove, minced
1/4 c
dry red wine
1/3 tsp
1/3 tsp
cayenne pepper
2 c
mozzarella cheese, shredded
egg, lighly beaten
1/4 c
parmesan, shredded
1 jar(s)
spaghetti sauce, 28 ounces
3/4 pkg
lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Homestyle Lasagna Rolls


  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2In a large skillet, thoroughly brown ground beef; drain fat.
  • 3Add mushrooms, onion, carrot and garlic; saute until vegetables are tender.
  • 4Add wine, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper; cook until wine is almost evaporated.
  • 5Remove from heat; allow to cool 10 to 15 minutes.
  • 6In a medium bowl, thoroughly combine meat mixture, mozzarella cheese, egg and 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese.
  • 7Pour 1/2 jar spaghetti sauce evenly in a 13x9" baking dish.
  • 8Evenly spread 1/3 cup meat filling over length of each lasagna noodle.
  • 9Carefully roll up noodle.
  • 10Place SEAM SIDE DOWN in baking dish.
  • 11Repeat with remaining noodles.
  • 12Bake, covered, 40 minutes.
  • 13Uncover, sprinkle with 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese.
  • 14Bake 5 minutes or until bubbly.
