Homemade meaning the sauce, not the actual pasta. I have made this in the states with both ditalini pasta and ring pasta, either one is perfect. Another option is to add mixed vegetables and browned ground beef to make a goulash.

prep time 5 Min
cook time 30 Min
method Stove Top
yield 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cans tomato sauce, (15 oz / 425 g each)
  • 3 cups water (or 1 cup water and 2 cups chicken broth)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 226 grams dry ring or ditalini pasta, (8 oz)

How To Make homemade spaghetti os

  • Step 1
To a large pot, add the tomato sauce, water, and milk. Heat to a boil then reduce to low.
  • Step 2
Stir in the garlic and onion powders, then stir in the cheese, stir until the cheese is all melted, takes just a minute or two.
  • Step 3
Add the pasta and stir that in, reduce heat to a low simmer. Cook for 20-30 minutes and stir occasionally so the pasta does not stick.
  • Step 4
When the pasta is tender, the Spaghetti Os are ready. Serve as is.
  • Step 5
Or with meatballs added, highly recommended! I had some frozen cooked meatball that I just heated in the microwave and added them.
