I loved Hamburger Helper as a kid, but over the years, it's become a mere shadow of it's former (1970's) self. This recipe is so good, the combination of flavors is just like the old Betty Crocker from when I was a kid, except creamier and even better!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- ground pepper, to taste
- 2 cups dry macaroni noodles or other similar sized pasta
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 cups grated mild cheddar cheese

Step 1In a deep, heavy skillet, brown the ground beef and drain off the excess fat. Return to heat.

Step 2Add in the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper and toss with the ground beef.

Step 3Stir in the pasta.

Step 4Pour in the beef broth and milk. Add the Worcestershire. Mix in the cornstarch and sugar.

Step 5Bring to a simmer. Stir in the cheese and mix until smooth and melted into liquid.

Step 6Turn heat to low. Cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 7Remove from the heat, plate, and serve!
