Ingredients
- 16 ounces noodles, uncooked
- 1.5 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup onions, coarsely chopped
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 3 cups cheddar cheese, cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup chow mein noodles
- 1 cup cashews
How To Make hearty noodle casserole

Step 1Cook noodles according to package directions.

Step 2Drain.

Step 3Rinse with hot water.

Step 4Heat oven to 350.

Step 5In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion.

Step 6Drain.

Step 7In a large bowl, combine soups, cheese, milk, salt and pepper.

Step 8Add cooked ground beef and noodles; stir gently.

Step 9Pour into 2 ungreased 2 quart casseroles.

Step 10Cover and bake at 350 for 25 to 35 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

Step 11Uncover and sprinkle with chow mein noodles and cashews.

Step 12Bake an additional 10 minutes.

Step 13Each casserole makes 6 (1 1/3 cup) servings.

Step 14To freeze casserole, place in the freezer after the casserole is mixed, before baking.

Step 15To prepare, thaw completely; increase baking time to 45 to 55 minutes.

Step 16Colby cheese may be used instead of cheddar cheese.

Step 17Peanuts may be used instead of cashews.
