Ingredients

garlic powder
1/2 tsp
black pepper
1 tsp
salt
3 Tbsp
soy sauce, low sodium

bay leaves
2 Tbsp
italian seasoning
2 - 15 oz. can(s)
diced tomatoes with garlic & onions
2 - 15 oz. can(s)
tomato sauce, no-salt added
3 c
water
5 clove
garlic, chopped
2 large
onions, chopped
2 lb
ground beef, leanest you can get
1 Tbsp
seasoning salt
2 c
elbow macaroni, uncooked

OPTIONAL TOPPINGS:

sour cream
paprika
shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make Goulash

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a dutch oven, saute the ground beef over medium high heat until no pink remains. Break up the meat while sauteing. Spoon off any grease.
  • 2Add onions & garlic to the pot & saute until they are tender, about 5 minutes.
  • 3Add water along with tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, bay leaves, soy sauce & all seasonings. Stir well.
  • 4Place a lid on the pot & allow to cook for 15 - 20 minutes. Add macaroni, stir well. Return the lid to the pot & simmer for 30 minutes.
  • 5Turn off the heat, remove the bay leaves & allow the mixture to sit about 30 minutes more before serving. Top off with desired toppings.
