One of the comfort foods from my youth, this is fast, easy, inexpensive and delicious! Plus it cooks in ONE POT!!

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces large elbow macaroni
  • 8-16 ounces ground beef 93/7 (i use 1/2 lb)
  • 1/2 medium onion-minced
  • 3 tablespoons green pepper-minced
  • 1 clove garlic (large) minced
  • 1 large can plum tomatoes - 29 oz
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper-fresh ground
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 - beef bouillon cube

How To Make goulash (macaroni/beef)

  • Step 1
    Cook large macaroni in boiling salted water for 1 minute under package directions. While pasta is cooking, mince onion, bell pepper and garlic. Drain macaroni and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Heat the pasta pot over medium high heat, add ground beef, onion, bell pepper and garlic. Cook-stirring 4-5 minutes till meat is cooked through and onions are translucent. Remove any fat that accumulated.
  • Step 3
    Stir in the red pepper flakes, tomatoes, black pepper, salt, celery seed, bouillion and macaroni. Cook over medium high heat for 1 minute stirring constantly. Serve.
