I always make my goulash a little different, so this time I used a Crock Pot. Better the next day and freezes beautifully.

prep time 25 Min
cook time 6 Hr 40 Min
method Slow Cooker Crock Pot
yield 8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup celery
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cans tomato soup (10.75 oz each)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 can whole kernel corn (8.75 oz)
  • 1 can peas (8.5 oz)
  • 4 cups pasta, uncooked usually macaroni but use what you like
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheese, your favorite
  • 1/4 cup Italian bread crumbs

How To Make goulash in a crock pot

  • Step 1
Cook hamburger, onions, celery, red pepper flakes, and other seasonings on low for about 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
After 30 minutes, break apart the beef.
  • Step 3
Add the tomato soups and undrained diced tomatoes. Stir together.
  • Step 4
Add drained corn and peas. Stir together.
  • Step 5
Stir in macaroni noodles. I put the macaroni in now, but if you want a firmer pasta, cook it separately.
  • Step 6
Add 1 cup of water, and add the butter.
  • Step 7
Cover and cook on low for a total of 4 - 6 hours.
  • Step 8
Once the pasta is done, give it a stir and check to see if it needs salt and pepper.
  • Step 9
Sprinkle the top with your favorite cheese and bread crumbs.
  • Step 10
Cover and allow the cheese to melt for 10 minutes.
