I've had this recipe so long, I had to look up where it came from. . . That being my friend Rhonda. This recipe is hearty and delicious. Simple, affordable, and, did I say it? Delicious. Served with a piece (or 3) of buttered bread, it's perfect for a cold winter's day!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 medium
    onion, chopped
  • 1 can(s)
    mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 3 c
    tomato juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 c
    uncooked macaroni

How to Make Goulash

Step-by-Step

  1. ***Alternate preparation -- Start cooking macaroni by itself, first, according to package directions. Do not add until 5 minutes to end of cook-time. This takes more time and work, but the noodles taste better.***
  2. Brown burger & onion. Drain off excess fat.
  3. Add mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, tomato juice, vinegar, salt, pepper, mustard, and macaroni.
  4. Boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 20 minutes or until macaroni is tender. Stir occasionally.
