I've had this recipe so long, I had to look up where it came from. . . That being my friend Rhonda. This recipe is hearty and delicious. Simple, affordable, and, did I say it? Delicious. Served with a piece (or 3) of buttered bread, it's perfect for a cold winter's day!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cups tomato juice
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 cup uncooked macaroni

How To Make goulash

  • Step 1
***Alternate preparation -- Start cooking macaroni by itself, first, according to package directions. Do not add until 5 minutes to end of cook-time. This takes more time and work, but the noodles taste better.***
  • Step 2
Brown burger & onion. Drain off excess fat.
  • Step 3
Add mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, tomato juice, vinegar, salt, pepper, mustard, and macaroni.
  • Step 4
Boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 20 minutes or until macaroni is tender. Stir occasionally.
