Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- 4 - hot dogs cut into chunks
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon each salt and pepper
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup red wine
- 1/2 cup banana ketchup (filipino ketchup)
- 1 liter can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- - fresh cilantro for garnish
How To Make filipino spaghetti

Step 1Cook the bacon in a large saute pan. Remove from pan and drain on paper towel. Add the hot dogs to the bacon grease and brown. Remove from pan and set aside.

Step 2Add the beef with salt and pepper and brown. Add the onions and garlic and saute until onions are softened. Add the tomato paste and mix well. Add the wine and scrap up the bits from pan. Let cook until reduced by half. Add the tomatoes, banana ketchup, fish sauce, oregano and brown sugar.

Step 3Let simmer until thickened about 20 minutes. Add the hotdogs back to pan. Meanwhile cook the spaghetti and drain. Serve with sauce over spaghetti sprinkle with crumbled bacon and garnish with cilantro
