Fettucine is used in our house instead of traditional spaghetti. More filling and better consistency in my opinion... Try this and see what you think! Variations are welcomed!

Ingredients

3/4 lb
ground beef
1/2 c
parmesan cheese, grated
1
onion, finely chopped
3
eggs
16 oz
crushed tomatoes
2 Tbsp
butter, melted
1 tsp
oregano
parsley
"just a pinch" of salt
"just a pinch" of pepper
1/4 tsp
garlic powder
1/2 c
mozzarella cheese, shredded
4 oz
fettuccine pasta

How to Make Fettucine Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown meat and onion in skillet.
  • 2Stir in tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper.
  • 3Bring to boil.
  • 4Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally for 20 minutes.
  • 5Remove from heat and add mozzarella and 1/4 cup parmesan.
  • 6Let stand 9-12 minutes.
  • 7Meanwhile, cook fettucine.
  • 8Beat eggs and stir in remaining parmesan, butter, parsley and garlic powder.
  • 9Stir into hot noodles.
  • 10Spoon onto tomato mixture.
  • 11Cover and cook over low heat, 15 minutes or until set.
  • 12Let stand 5 minutes.
  • 13Turn out on round platter.
