fancy-dancy over the top spaghetti sauce

I have been using this recipe for over 35 years. It makes a very hearty spaghetti sauce that can really fill you up. Great with a nice salad and buttery-yummy-cheesy Garlic bread

Ingredients For fancy-dancy over the top spaghetti sauce

  • 2 lb
    ground beef or italian sausage or a mixture of both
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1 md
    bell pepper
  • 2 can
    tomato sauce, 15-1/2 ounce size
  • 2 can
    tomato paste, 12 ounce size
  • 1 can
    black olives, chopped, 7-1/2 ounce size (you can also use sliced olives if you desire)
  • 2 pkg
    spaghetti sauce mix with mushrooms
  • 3 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    oregano
  • 2 clove
    garlic, chopped
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 1 lb
    pasta of your choice

How To Make fancy-dancy over the top spaghetti sauce

    Cook meat, drain fat. Add onions and bell peppers and cook until meat is browned and vegetables are tender.

    Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for 1-1/2 hours. While the sauce is simmering you can cook the pasta you choose to serve with this sauce.

    Drain spaghetti and serve with sauce, top with cheese and serve with garlic toast. This is better the next day, if there is enough left.
