family pasta sauce
(1 RATING)
This is a sauce that is better when cooked for a few hours. I taste it every so often and adjust the seasonings.

How To Make family pasta sauce
-
Step 1Add extra-virgin olive oil to 6 qt. pot. When hot, add the onion and garlic and saute over medium heat for 7-8 min until soft. Add celery and carrot and saute for 4-5 min on lower heat. Add meat & turn up the heat. Stir frequently, breaking up lumps and adding all the herbs and spices.
-
Step 2When meat has cooked, add the tomato products. Cook on low heat about 30 min to get sauce to thicken. Taste and re-season as needed. You may want to add 1/4 cup freshly grated Romano cheese as the last ingredient.
-
Step 3Serve over the cooked pasta you have chosen. Accompany with the salad and bread of your choice and dinner is served.
