Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can 24 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) beef broth
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • 1 - (12 oz.) box shell noodles or macaroni noodles
  • - grated parmesan cheese (optional)
  • - fresh chopped parsley (optional)

How To Make easy skillet pasta & meat sauce

  • Step 1
    In a deep skillet, brown ground beef with onion, garlic and mushroom; Drain off grease and return meat mixture to pan.
  • Step 2
    Add pasta, tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, beef broth, water, salt & pepper, and Italian seasoning. Give a quick stir just to combine.
  • Step 3
    Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or so, over low heat, stirring occasionally until liquid is absorbed and pasta is fully cooked. Add water 1/2 cup at a time, if necessary to continue cooking pasta.
  • Step 4
    Serve in pasta bowls with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley.
