  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1 can(s)
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 can(s)
    24 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1 can(s)
    diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can(s)
    (14.5 oz.) beef broth
  • 1/2 c
  • 2 tsp
    italian seasoning
  • 1
    (12 oz.) box shell noodles or macaroni noodles
  • ·
    grated parmesan cheese (optional)
  • ·
    fresh chopped parsley (optional)

How to Make Easy Skillet Pasta & Meat Sauce


  1. In a deep skillet, brown ground beef with onion, garlic and mushroom; Drain off grease and return meat mixture to pan.
  2. Add pasta, tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, beef broth, water, salt & pepper, and Italian seasoning. Give a quick stir just to combine.
  3. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or so, over low heat, stirring occasionally until liquid is absorbed and pasta is fully cooked. Add water 1/2 cup at a time, if necessary to continue cooking pasta.
  4. Serve in pasta bowls with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley.
