Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, boneless cut into strips
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 6 ounces mushrooms
  • 6 - scallions, chopped
  • 10.5 ounces beef gravy
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/3 cup sour cream

How To Make easy and elegant beef stroganoff

  • Step 1
    Sprinkle steak strips with half the pepper.
  • Step 2
    Melt 1 tablespoon butter in large, preferably nonstick, skillet over med-high heat.
  • Step 3
    Add sliced mushrooms, whites of scallions and remaining pepper.
  • Step 4
    Cook, stirring often, until mushrooms are tender, about 8 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Remove with slotted spoon to bowl.
  • Step 6
    Wipe skillet clean.
  • Step 7
    Add remaining butter and heat over high heat until sizzling.
  • Step 8
    Add beef strips and stir-fry about 2 minutes until browned.
  • Step 9
    Stir in gravy and vinegar.
  • Step 10
    Bring to a boil.
  • Step 11
    Remove from heat and stir in sour cream until blended.
  • Step 12
    Sprinkle with green part of scallions.
  • Step 13
    Serve immediately.
