My kids just love this sauce...I love it as it's so darn easy. Add a sliced, grilled chicken breast, seafood, etc for a heartier meal. Enjoy!

prep time 5 Min
cook time 10 Min
method Stove Top
yield 4 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 - egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt - and pepper to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg or to taste
  • Cooked - linquine or alfredo noodles, kept warm
  • Seasoned - grilled chicken breasts if desired

How To Make ~ easiest alfredo sauce ~

  • Step 1
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add cream and bring to slow simmer. Whisk in egg yolks, whisking until well blended. Stir in cheese, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Cook until thickened, stirring often...about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
Serve over warm pasta...I grilled chicken breasts, sliced and added for a heartier meal. Update: Most times I microwave a bag of broccoli and air fry chicken tenders for this recipe
