This is 1 of the many recipes that I have developed over my lifetime of outdoor life.

NOTE: I will not publish in cookbook this dove recipe because of the Bible Story of Noah's Ark, but several people seem to like it, so here it is...enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 18 - 20
    dove breasts
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 medium
    onion, chopped
  • 4
    celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 can(s)
    (10 & 3/4 oz.) cream of celery soup
  • 1 lb
    fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 tsp
    oregano
  • 1 tsp
    bottled brown bouquet sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • ·
    cooked noodles

How to Make DOVE STROGANOFF

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Place dove breasts in a large baking dish.
  3. Salt and pepper well.
  4. Saute onion, celery and mushrooms in butter.
  5. Mix in the remaining ingredients except for the sour cream.
  6. Pour over dove breasts.
  7. Cover and bake for 2 hours or until tender; stir occasionally.
  8. Add sour cream.
  9. Stir well.
  10. Bake, uncovered, for an additional 20 minutes.
  11. Serve over noodles.
