dove stroganoff

This is 1 of the many recipes that I have developed over my lifetime of outdoor life. NOTE: I will not publish in cookbook this dove recipe because of the Bible Story of Noah's Ark, but several people seem to like it, so here it is...enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 18 - 20 - dove breasts
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 - celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 can (10 & 3/4 oz.) cream of celery soup
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 teaspoon bottled brown bouquet sauce
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • - cooked noodles

How To Make dove stroganoff

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Place dove breasts in a large baking dish.
  • Step 3
    Salt and pepper well.
  • Step 4
    Saute onion, celery and mushrooms in butter.
  • Step 5
    Mix in the remaining ingredients except for the sour cream.
  • Step 6
    Pour over dove breasts.
  • Step 7
    Cover and bake for 2 hours or until tender; stir occasionally.
  • Step 8
    Add sour cream.
  • Step 9
    Stir well.
  • Step 10
    Bake, uncovered, for an additional 20 minutes.
  • Step 11
    Serve over noodles.
