This is an easy inexpensive filling meal. When my Dad was a kid his father was in the kitchen making dinner. My dad walked in and asked his father what was for dinner. His father was opening cans of dog food to feed the pets and my Dad said, "Ewww are we having dog food for dinner?" Of course his father said "yes" and there is how the name was born ...I love that story.
