We eat pasta often and this is one of our Favorites, again Dr. Parent is the creator of this great recipe. Please give it a try you'll love it as we do. Ingredients

  • 14 ounces tomatoes, canned italian style with juice
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 3 tablespoons onion minced
  • 1 tablespoon carrots minced fine
  • 3 tablespoons celery minced fine
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 pounds bulk italian sausage
  • 1 package penne pasta

How To Make doc's tomato cream sauce with penne pasta

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients except cream in a open sauce pan and simmer on low heat for 1 to 1 1/2 hours
  • Step 2
    Put in a food processor and puree, strain and return to pan, warm sauce and add cream.
  • Step 3
    While your sauce is cooking,cook sausage and drain off fat, add to your sauce after it is done, or you can put it over your favorite pasta, pour sauce over meat and pasta ENJOY
  • Step 4
    Cook the penne pasta drain and place in casserole dish pour sauce over pasta and place meat on top and bake for about 20 minutes, ENJOY
