  • 2 lb
    chuck or round steak, cut in cubes
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 c
  • 1 small
    garlic, minced
  • 3/4 c
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
  • 2 tsp
  • ·
    pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 c
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1/4 c
    cold water
  • 1 pkg
    noodles, 8 ounces

How to Make Diner Goulash


  1. Brown first 4 ingredients.
  2. Combine and mix ketchup, brown sugar, salt, paprika, pepper, dry mustard and worcestershire sauce.
  3. Add mixture and 1 1/2 cup water to meat mixture.
  4. Simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
  5. When meat is tender, mix flour and 1/4 cup cold water.
  6. Stir into meat mixture.
  7. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  8. Boil 1 minute.
  9. Pour over hot cooked noodles.
