dee's baked goulash

This is a modified version of what my dad used to prepare when I was growing up....he "fondly" tagged it "Slum Gullum"! He was a very good cook.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 2 pounds ground chuck, cooked
  • 1 can diced tomatoes - 15 oz.
  • 1 can tomato sauce - 8 oz.
  • 2 cups fine shredded cheese of choice or blend
  • 1 package lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

How To Make dee's baked goulash

  • Step 1
    Cook Macaroni to andante stage. Drain, and place in casserole dish. Prepare beef in saute pan, leaving chunky, bite sized portions, drain excess oils. Add chili powder and onion soup mix and blend well. Add tomatoes and tomato sauce. Poor mixture over macaroni, add 1 cup cheese and lightly mix into cooked macaroni. Top with remaining 1 cup cheese, bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Serve with side salad and Texas Toast.
