I can't remember what website I got this recipe from, but it is always a hit, no matter who I cook it for:)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sweet italian sausage
  • 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2-3/4 pound penne pasta
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • - parmesan cheese

How To Make crock pot penne

  • Step 1
    Cook sausage (casings removed) in frying pan on medium heat until browned & crumbly. Drain well.
  • Step 2
    Place in crockpot. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper, oil and sugar. Stir well.
  • Step 3
    Cook on low 7 to 8 hours.
  • Step 4
    Salt large pot of water and cook 1/2 - 3/4 lb of penne 4-5 minutes less than directions on box call for.
  • Step 5
    Add penne and stir well.
  • Step 6
    Top with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella.
  • Step 7
    Continue to cook on high for 15-20 minutes or until pasta is tender and heated and the cheese has melted.
