I can't remember what website I got this recipe from, but it is always a hit, no matter who I cook it for:)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    sweet italian sausage
  • 1 can(s)
    (15 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 can(s)
    (14 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • 1/4 c
    olive oil
  • 2 tsp
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2-3/4 lb
    penne pasta
  • 1 c
    shredded mozzarella
  • ·
    parmesan cheese

How to Make Crock pot Penne

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook sausage (casings removed) in frying pan on medium heat until browned & crumbly. Drain well.
  2. Place in crockpot. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper, oil and sugar. Stir well.
  3. Cook on low 7 to 8 hours.
  4. Salt large pot of water and cook 1/2 - 3/4 lb of penne 4-5 minutes less than directions on box call for.
  5. Add penne and stir well.
  6. Top with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella.
  7. Continue to cook on high for 15-20 minutes or until pasta is tender and heated and the cheese has melted.
