I believe this is an old Weight Watchers Recipe. It's a good way to get a little spinach in your child's diet.

yield

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound extra lean ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 1 medium onion - chopped
  • 1 clove garlic - minced
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 14 1/2 ounces can - stewed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces bow-tie pasta, cooked and drained
  • 10 ounces spinach, frozen, thawed, drained
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, part skim milk shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, fat-free, shredded

How To Make crock pot bowtie supper

  • Step 1
Place all ingredients, EXCEPT for cooked pasta, spinach and cheeses) in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 7 to 8 hours or until bubbly. Increase slow cooker to high; stir in pasta, spinach and cheeses. ( I add the pasta already cooked) Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until heated through and cheeses are melted. ( It may be done sooner since pasta is cooked. You just need the cheeses melted)
  • Step 2
For those that are on low carb diets, or not big fans of pasta, this is also delicious over spaghetti squash.
