creamy macaroni and cheese (slow cooker)

My Mom makes this with a ham dinner. I really don't like mac and cheese, but this I really enjoy. As far as I can recall, she used Paula Deen's Recipe. With the left overs, she cubes her ham up, and mixes it with the mac and cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 3 - eggs, beaten
  • 2 1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How To Make creamy macaroni and cheese (slow cooker)

  • Step 1
    Boil the macaroni in a 2 quart saucepan in plenty of water until tender. Then drain your macaroni.
  • Step 2
    In a medium saucepan, mix butter and cheese. Stir until the cheese melts. In a slow cooker, combine cheese/butter mixture and add the sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard and pepper and stir well. Add eggs.
  • Step 3
    add drained macaroni and stir again. Set the slow cooker on low setting and cook for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 4
    Can be done in the oven.. 350 degrees for about an hour and a half.
