Ingredients
- 1 pound homemade or store-bought gnocchi
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small shallot, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- fresh chives, for serving
How To Make creamy cheese sauce for gnocchi

Step 1Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil to cook the gnocchi.

Step 2While the water is coming to a boil, melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the garlic and shallots and saute 1 minute.

Step 3Add the heavy cream and mascarpone and cook until the cheese melts.

Step 4Lower the heat and simmer for 3 minutes. Add the Gruyere and Parmesan and whisk until fully melted.

Step 5Throw the gnocchi into the boiling water and cook until it floats, then 2 more minutes.

Step 6Add the cooked gnocchi to the sauce and cook 2 more minutes. Serve with the chives sprinkled on top.
