Ciao Bella Pasta al Forno (Baked Ziti)

Anna Sciancalepore Antoniello

For our family Pasta al Forno or Baked Ziti is simple and uncomplicated. Just the sauce, mozzarella and parmesan cheese, and pasta. We reserve the ricotta cheese for lasagna.

When my sister and I were kids my Mom used to make teeny tiny meatballs and throw that in too or chopped up left over mortadella (it's like an Italian ham or bologna.) Each region of Italy will make a different version, this is ours.
