This is an old-fashioned "hotdish"; a real comfort food sort of thing. It's great served with a vegetable and corn meal muffins.

garlic, chopped

chopped onion
1 1/2 lb
lean ground beef
celery ribs, chopped and cooked
1 can(s)
tomato paste (6 oz)
1 can(s)
diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
1 can(s)
tomato sauce (8 oz)
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup, light
2 Tbsp
chili powder
salt & pepper to taste
4 c
cooked macaroni

How to Make Chili - Mac Hot Dish


  • 1In a dutch oven, brown hamburger with onion and garlic. Drain well.
  • 2Add remaining indgredients, except macaroni, and cook until thickened, about 1 1/2 hours. If dish becomes too thick, thin with more water or tomato juice. Add macaroni during the last half hour so it doesn't overcook and get mushy.
