Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 cups leftover shredded rotisserie chicken
- salt and pepper
- sweet paprika
- 1 pound shell pasta, cooked and drained
- fresh parsley, for garnish
How To Make chicken a la king with shell pasta

Step 1In a large saucepan, melt the butter, add the mushrooms and cook about 5 minutes. Add the flour, stir and cook about 3 minutes. Add the chicken stock and milk and stir until thickened.

Step 2Beat the egg yolks with the heavy cream. Keep whisking, add 1/2 cup of the hot mushroom sauce, then pour it back into the pan. Cook 2 more minutes. Stir in the frozen peas and cooked chicken. Serve over cooked shell pasta and garnish with fresh parsley.
