cheesy baked spaghetti

I started preparing Cheesy Baked Spaghetti after my children became burned out from regular Spaghetti. My friend from Tennessee shared this recipe with me before I had kids. I have tweaked it a little over the years and my children love it! It is great to send the next day for lunch in place of a school lunch.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces spaghetti, cooked
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 pound sweet italian sausage, cooked
  • 1/2 pound ground beef, cooked
  • 1 jar your favorite spaghetti sauce
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons oregano
  • 2 tablespoons basil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - grated parmesan cheese

How To Make cheesy baked spaghetti

  • Step 1
    Combine all ingredients in large sauce pan except for the cooked spaghetti and cheeses.
  • Step 2
    Simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat and add cooked noodles.
  • Step 4
    Pour 1/2 sauce/noodles in a greased glass dish. Top with 1 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  • Step 5
    Top cheese with remaining sauce/noodles then top with remaining cheese. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
