lasagna noodles cooked and cooled
1 large
container full fat ricotta cheese
2 c
shredded mozzarella cheese
1 c
parmesan cheese
1/2 c
fresh basil minced divided

VODKA SAUCE

1 large
sweet onion chopped
6 clove
garlic minced
3 Tbsp
olive oil
2 can(s)
28 oz crushed tomatoes
1 1/2 c
vodka
1 small
can tomato paste
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Cheese Filled Lasagna Rolls w Homemade Vodka Sauce

Step-by-Step

  • 1For the sauce
    Saute the onion and garlic in the olive oil until translucent. Add the crushed tomatoes and vodka. Simmer 1/2 hour. Add the tomato paste heavy cream and 1/4 cup basil. Simmer another 1/2 hour. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • 2Mix the cheeses together with the other 1/4 cup basil. Lay out the lasagna noodles on wax paper. Cover the entire length of noodle with cheese mixture. Roll up and place in greased cooking pan seam side down.
  • 3When all are finished spoon sauce over top. Bake in 350 degrees oven for 30 minutes.
