Our whole family loves this easy dinner from the moment my brother- in-law (a chef) introduced it. it was originally called "Coon Cheese Casserole", and called for Cracker Barrels extra sharp cheddar black label cheese. I use Seriously Sharp Hunters Cheese or other xx sharp cheddar. Always a huge hit at pot luck meals.

Ingredients

1 box
ziti with lines
1 lb
extra sharp cheddar cheese
1 lg. can(s)
v8 juice

How to Make Cheddar Cheese Casserole

Step-by-Step

  • 1boil ziti al dente'
  • 2while ziti is cooking, slice cheddar cheese
  • 3in a large casserole dish, add a layer of ziti.
  • 4layer slices of cheese on top of ziti to cover.
  • 5continue making layers till the dish is full and there are no remaining ingredients.
  • 6pour V8 over the casserole until visible, reserving approx. 1 cup of juice
  • 7bake covered at 350 for 1 hour
  • 8* use reserved V8 juice when reheating leftovers.
