This shrimp pasta recipe is in the style of buffalo wings, filled with penne pasta and bacon. It is so delicious.

Ingredients

  • 8 cooked bacon strips, crumbled and divided
  • 2 cups crumbled blue cheese, divided
  • 2 cups wing sauce, divided
  • 10 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, divided
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup half and half
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 large tomato, seeded and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese

How To Make buffalo shrimp with penne and bacon

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    Add half the crumbled bacon and half the blue cheese crumbles; mix well. Drizzle with 1/2 cup wing sauce.
  • Step 3
    Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add penne and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 11 minutes. Drain.
  • Step 4
    Heat one tablespoon margarine and canola oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add shrimps and Old Bay seasoning. Cook and stir, flipping shrimp halfway ,until pink, 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Meanwhile, pour 1 cup wing sauce into a medium bowl. Grab the shrimp out of the skillet and place into a bowl of wing sauce; mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and let marinade 30 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Heat remaining margarine in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add flour; whisk until fully combined and to turns into a roux, about 1 minute. Mix in heavy cream, half and half and cubed cream cheese; continue to whisk together.
  • Step 7
    Stir in remaining wing sauce, dry onion soup mix, Italian seasoning and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer for 6 minutes until the sauce is creamy and smooth. Remove from heat.
  • Step 8
    Add cooked penne pasta, shrimp mixture, chopped tomatoes and remaining blue cheese; mix well.
  • Step 9
    Pour evenly into an prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with Parmesan and Monterey jack cheese. Top with remaining crumbled bacon.
  • Step 10
    Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
