One of the ladies from church made this for a luncheon. I asked for the recipe from the first fantastic bite!

Stove Top


  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 lb
    sweet or hot italian sausage, remove casings
  • 1/2 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 c
    diced onion
  • 3 clove
    garlic, pressed
  • 28 oz
    can (drained) diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 c
    whipping cream or 1/2 and 1/2
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 12 oz
    bow-tie pasta, cooked and drained
  • 3 Tbsp
    minced fresh basil (can omit if desired)
  • ·
    parmesan cheese to taste

How to Make Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream


  1. Heat oil in large skillet. Add: sausage and red pepper flakes, stirring until sausage is brown.
  2. Add: onion and garlic. Cook until onion is tender.
  3. Add: tomatoes, cream and salt. Simmer until it thickens slightly.
  4. Add: pasta to sauce and cook until heated through.
  5. Serve sprinkled with basil and parmesan cheese.
  6. Note at bottom of recipe: This dish has an elegant presentation and I like to serve it to guests. Children love it too.
