I made this for my parents and brothers one night and they couldn't get enough and my brothers don't really like lasagna.

bow tie pasta, farfalle
2 Tbsp
vegetable oil
1 small
1 lb
lean ground beef
1 jar(s)
spaghetti sauce, your choice (14 ounces)
2 c
ricotta cheese or low fat cottage cheese
4 Tbsp
grated parmesan cheese
2 c
mozzarella cheese, shredded

How to Make Bow-Tie Lasagna


  • 1Preheat oven to 425.
  • 2Grease 13x9 rectangular baking dish.
  • 3In large pot boil 4 qts water and partially cook pasta for half of the directed time.
  • 4In large skillet heat oil over medium heat, add onion and saute 1 minute.
  • 5Stir in beef and cook until lightly browned about 3 minutes.
  • 6Add spaghetti sauce and bring to a boil.
  • 7Reduce heat to low and partially cover the skillet, simmer for 5 minutes.
  • 8In small bowl mix ricotta or cottage cheese with egg and Parmesan.
  • 9Drain the pasta thoroughly, layer half the pasta in the pan.
  • 10Spoon half the meat mixture over the pasta.
  • 11Spoon cheese mixture over the meat.
  • 12Sprinkle with half the mozzarella.
  • 13Make another layer with the remaining pasta, then the meat, then the mozzarella.
  • 14Cover pan with foil, spraying the inside facing the cheese with cooking spray.
  • 15Bake for 15 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 8-10 minutes or until heated through.
