Ingredients
- 2 pounds sirloin steak
- 1/4 cup butter
- 6 ounces mushrooms, sliced and drained
- 2 cans condensed beef broth
- 1/3 cup instant minced onion
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups sour cream
- 8 ounces egg noodles, medium
- 3 tablespoons butter
How To Make beef stroganoff (betty)

Step 1Cut meat across the grain into 3/4-inch slices, then into strips 3 x 1/4 inch.

Step 2Melt 1/4 cup butter in a large skillet.

Step 3Cook and stir mushrooms in butter about 5 minutes, remove mushrooms.

Step 4In same skillet, brown meat.

Step 5Reserving 2/3 cup of broth, stir in remaining broth, the onion, ketchup and garlic salt.

Step 6Cover and simmer 15 minutes.

Step 7Blend reserved broth and the flour; stir into meat.

Step 8Add mushrooms; heat to boiling, stirring constantly.

Step 9Boil and stir 1 minute.

Step 10Stir in sour cream, heat through.

Step 11Cook noodles as directed on package; drain.

Step 12Toss with 3 tablespoons butter.

Step 13Serve with stroganoff.
