beef macaroni skillet

Received this and many recipes from a friend who loves to share his recipes with me! And I am so glad!! He raved about this one and I was very impressed how good it turned out!!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 cups tomato juice
  • 1 can tomato sauce-small size 6oz
  • 2 tablespoons italian parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, grated

How To Make beef macaroni skillet

  • Step 1
    Melt butter and cook onion 4-5 minutes. Add garlic & saute 1-2 mins. Put aside in a bowl. Now cook ground beef, until no longer pink. Drain off any fat. Add onion and garlic to beef. Next add all other ingredients - except cheese.
  • Step 2
    Cover tightly and simmer until macaroni is done, stirring occassionally. Takes about 25-30 mins. When done add your grated cheddar cheese. It will melt nicely! (Take out the bay leaf!!)
  • Step 3
    Note: Sauteed fresh mushrooms may also be added! (I did not try them, but I will next time. It would be a good addition to this dish.
