How To Make beef and mini penne with cheese sauce
-
Step 1Place the beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Cook until the beef is no longer pink. Drain and add the tomato sauce. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the penne pasta.
-
Step 2Preheat the oven 350 degrees F. Make the cheese sauce by placing butter in a saucepan. Whisk in the flour to make a roux. Slowly add the heavy cream and cook until thickened. Stir in the white cheddar cheese and let it melt. Set aside.
-
Step 3Drain the penne and stir in the beaten egg and mozzarella cheese. Spray a 13 x 9 inch pan and place half of the penne mixture in the bottom of the pan. Cover with the meat mixture then add the remaining penne mixture.
-
Step 4Add the cheese sauce last and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil, let sit for about 10 minutes, then serve.
