Ingredients
- 2 large red onions, cut in half and sliced into thin half-rings
- 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon beef base (i like better than bouillon brand)
- 2 1/2 pounds beef round steak, trimmed of fat and cut into serving-size portions
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 16-oz packages wide egg noodles
- - sour cream, to serve (optional)

Step 1Place onions in a 4- to 5-quart slow cooker. Top with brown sugar, vinegar, salt and beef base. Top with beef. Sprinkle flour over beef.

Step 2Cover slow cooker, set on Low heat and cook 7 to 8 hours.

Step 3About 15 minutes before serving, cook noodles according to package directions and drain.

Step 4To serve, place noodles on serving plates and ladle some of the meat and onion mixture over the noodles. Top each serving with a dollop of sour cream, if desired.
