Ingredients For baked ziti with meatballs

    butter
  • 1/4
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 6
    mushroom caps, diced
  • 1/2 tsp
    basil, dried
  • 1/2 tsp
    parsley flakes
  • 1/2 tsp
    thyme, leaves
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • SAUCE
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 2 oz
    cream cheese
  • 14 1/2 oz
    diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp
    truffle infused salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 oz
    butter
  • OTHER
  • 1 lb
    dry ziti
  • 2 c
    mozzarela cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 c
    parmesan cheese

How To Make baked ziti with meatballs

    Chop onion and mushrooms; Melt butter in a saute pan, add garlic and onions; saute until golden and add mushrooms and herbs; saute for another minute.

    in a large bowl, add meat, egg, and onion mixture. Mix well and form onto small balls. Cook meatballs while ziti is boiling.

    Sauce: Beat egg and set aside. Add the un-drained tomatoes to a warm pan and smooth in cream cheese add salt and pepper. Remove from heat and whisk in egg. Sauce will be runny

    Drain Ziti well; shred mozzarella cheese. in a 9x14 baking dish, layer ziti, meatballs, sauce and cheese. Top with another layer of mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350 of 30 minutes the sprinkle with parmesean cheese and toss under broiler until golden - Parmesean cheese burns fast, watch carefully. Let sit 10 minutes before cuttin
