A simple, great casserole which I serve with a tossed mixed green salad

Ingredients

  • 1 pound box of dry ziti pasta
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 - 26 ounce jars of your favorite spaghetti sauce
  • 6 ounces slices provolone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

How To Make baked ziti

  • Step 1
    Bring large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add Ziti pasta and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain well
  • Step 2
    In a large skillet, ground beef and onion over medium heat. Add spaghetti sauce and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Preheat oven to 350. Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish and layer as follows: 1/2 ziti, 1/2 sauce and meat mixture, provolone cheese, sour cream, remaining ziti, remaining sauce and meat mixture, mozzarella cheese then top with grated parmesan cheese.
  • Step 4
    Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until cheeses are thoroughly melted.
