Ingredients
- 12 ounces uncooked ziti
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 2 medium garlic cloves - minced
- 1/2 pound lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper each
- 1 jar ready made spaghetti sauce (or 28oz can of crushed tomatoes)
- 1 cup mozzrella cheese, shredded
How To Make baked beef ziti

Step 1Preheat oven to 350. Cook pasta according to package directions and drain. Set aside.

Step 2Meanwhile, heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat; add garlic and saute 2 minutes. Add beef and cook until browned, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Drain off any fat.

Step 3Add oregano, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper, stir to coat beef. Cook 2 minutes until herbs become fragrant. Add sauce OR tomatoes, and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 4Spoon small about of tomato mixture in bottom of 3 qt. casserole dish(to keep pasta from sticking). Mix everything together and pour in casserole. Bake 20-25 minutes--cover with foil.
