Originally given to me by a colleague and she used cherry tomatoes instead of the canned variety. I began adding things to it and experimented with a variety of items. I also generally make this for a crowd and if you try this for a crowd, increase the packages to three of the rotini pasta and you might need a larger bottle or more than one of the Italian salad dressing (any variety).

How to Make Anything Pasta Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook pasta per instructions on package.
  2. When done, drain and let cool.
  3. Pour 1/4 bottle of salad dressing over pasta and mix well. Add remaining ingredients.
  4. Chill for up to eight hours (may be prepared a day in advance). Check every 4 hours for dryness and reapply dressing liberally to keep moistened.
  5. You may add anything extra you'd like to this salad. I have added a jar of artichoke hearts, pepperoni, cubed cheese, mushrooms, sliced eggs, black olives, etc.
