I purchase the ham in the deli case and have them cut it as ham steaks and then I cube it. Can also use the pre-pkg. diced ham.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces refrigerated butermilk biscuits (use grands)
  • 1 cup ham - chopped
  • 2 tablespoons onion - chopped
  • 2 tablespoons margarine - softened
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 5 slices american cheese (slice in quarters)
  • 1 can black olives - sliced (sm can)
  • 4 - mushrooms - fresh or canned

How To Make turtlewiches

  • Step 1
    Combine ham, onion, margarine & mustard.
  • Step 2
    Pat 4 biscuits into 3-1/2" circles on greased baking sheet.
  • Step 3
    Sppon 2 T. of ham mixture on each biscuit.
  • Step 4
    Top each with 1 slice quartered cheese.
  • Step 5
    Top with more ham mixture.
  • Step 6
    Pat remaining 4 biscuits into 4" circle. Place over filling. Don't seal edges.
  • Step 7
    Arrange 5 sliced olives on each biscuit. Sprinkle top with poppy seed. Insert one mushroom into filling of each sandwich for turtle's head.
  • Step 8
    Bake for 25 minutes at 350 or until golden brown.
