This chili is by far the best I have ever had! I am not being biased either, I really love chili and have had all different kinds. It has also won in two chili cook-offs. It's unique in the fact that it had 3 meats, 3 veggies and 3 beans. Also, the beef in au jus is the kicker! So delicious!

This chili was a hit in the Test Kitchen. The mix of beans, meat, and veggies was great. The sweet peppers were a great addition. I can see why it's award-winning. It's a great shortcut chili recipe for a cool night. Serve with cornbread and the family will smile.

Ingredients For "three amigos chili"

1 lbground beef
-
1 lbsteak, (choice meat, ex. rib eye, top sirloin, etc)

1 pkg"fully cooked" prepared "beef roast in au jus" (15 oz)

2 canchili beans (16 oz each)
-
2 canred kidney beans (16 oz each)
-
2 cangreat northern (white) beans (16 oz each)

1 lgjalapeño
-
1choice of sweet pepper (red, orange, yellow)

1 cansweet corn (16 oz)

2 cantomato sauce (16 oz each)

1 cantomato paste (6 oz)
-
1packet "chili' seasoning
-
1 TbspWorcestershire sauce

1 tspgarlic powder

salt & pepper to taste
How To Make "three amigos chili"

1Add beans, corn, sauces, paste, and garlic to large pot and cook on medium heat.

2Brown ground beef, add 1/4 packet "chili" seasoning to meat. Pour the rest into pot and add meat to pot when done browning. (drain depending on how lean the meat)

3Grill steak (with dash of salt and pepper) to desired color, (medium usually chops best) chop and add to pot.

4Heat up "fully cooked" microwavable "beef in au jus" per package directions, shred with two forks and add to pot.

5Chop (or mince per preference) jalapeño and pepper and add to pot.

6Add garlic, salt and pepper (to taste) and cook on low for 30-45 min.
